HELLO AGAIN DEAR CLASSMATES:

YES I NOW THAT I WAS THE START MANY WEEKS AGO BUT.....I LIKE REMEMBER THAT.

THE WEEK I WAS THE START I COULDN´T ACCESS TO INTERNET TO WRITE MY EXPERIENCE. 

IT WAS A HARD WEEK I LEARND SO MANY THINGS OF TECH.

AFTER WE ALL TOGUETHER FILMED SOME SKETCHS IT WAS MY TURN TO JOIN ALL THE PIECES OF THE VIDEO, FOR THAT I USED "PINNACLE STUDIO" PROGRAMME WHICH WAS A REAL CHALLENGE FOR ME, AS YOU KNOW I AM NOT VERY GOOD WITH TECH!!.

"PINNACLE STUDIO" : WITH THIS PROGRAMME I HAVE LEARND THAT YOU CAN CHANGE THE VOICE EVENTHOUGH THE FILM WAS FINISH, ADD SOME SUBTITLES, CUT SOME SCENES, CHANGE THE SEQUENCY, THE LIGHT......SO MANY IMPORTANT THINGS..FOR ME IT WAS AMUSING BUT EXHAUSTING JOB.

ANALYST OF THIS WEEK.

Hi! I am Cristina Gil and this week I have been the analyst. This week has been very especial for us because we won the competition! It is like a reward for all the hard work we have done , so personally I am very proud of our work. We tried to create our moovly video perfect, we wanted every detail to be nice and original and our work seems to have paid of! 

Being analyst for me is quite hard because you have to grade your collegues which is an unconfortable job because of the big responsability, but someone has to do it, this week it was me unfortunately. But if we realize, all of us are going to be analysts when we become teachers because we will be grading our students so it is an important task that we have to do.

Now I am going to explain how we have felt and how we have worked this week.


1. What was the best part of the activity?


The best part has been creating the video. It has been great because we came out with very good ideas to represent what we had learnt during these weeks. It was a difficult job because we had learnt so much in little time so we did not exactly know what to do to represent everything but we finally did it and we did a great job! 

2. What was the worse?


The worst part of the activity was discovering the programme, because at the begining we did not know very well how it worked so we took some precius time to learn how to use it but once we got it everything was good.

3. What was the best moment of the week (in the work of the group)?


The best part has been presenting the video because we became one of the winners! we were so so happy so that was definetely the best part of the whole work: the reward.

4. What was the worse?


The worse has been the time. We had lots of things to do but we managed to have enough time to do everything even though we were very tired and exhausted while doing it.

5. What have you learnt?


We have learnt how to create a story of what we have learnt which I think is very important because I think that after working on this video we are going to remember better what we have learnt. Making up stories is very good for remembering things. We have also learnt how to use Moovly and we will be using it in the future because it is an original way of representing things such as mini stories like this one.

6. What do you need to conserve - as a group - for the next weeks?


We need to conserve the way we are organising our tasks and roles because even though we get very stressed we usually end up with a good job, with a positive work.

7. What do you need to improve - as a group - for the next weeks?


I think we have to learn how to focuss on the task better, because sometimes we are tired and we do not pay attention to what we have to do.

8. How this content is related to other contents in the course and in your degree?


Well, I think it is the first time we have done something like this during the course, we have not used Moovly in any other subject but I think we can more or less relate it to English, because we had to create a fairy tale with an important moral message so this could be related with the story we have made with Moovly, specially the part of the dark side of books, because there is an important message in it.

9. There is any evident social conection of this content (news, politics...)?


Not specifically. Moovly is just an animation programme, but the content we introduced in it could be related, for example in education politicians are constantly changing the laws and making it more difficult for students. Selling books has also become a big industry.

Facilitator

Hey guys!! :) I'm Cristina F and this week I have been the facilitator of Hide and Seek. It's not so easy to organize a group of six people but, it's easier after all the work we have done. We divided our work in two parts, in one hand some of us worked about the voices and sounds of the video. And other created the "moovly" with the images and the transitions. The best part was that all that organization made us win with our video! :D

JOURNALIST OF THIS WEEK!

Hello bloggers! This week, I am one of the journalist with my partner Carmen.
This week has been very interesting. In the work of this week, called "What have we learned?” we should explain all the concepts that we have learnt in Organization Subject and to explain this, we have used the moovly’s program. Moovly is a free online platform to easily create animated content like a Pro: animated videos, banners or any other multimedia content.
Before starting with the work, we were a bit worried because we never had used this program.
We started with the work the last Monday (18/03/2014):
First, we were thinking about different ideas to make a creativity video, and we thought in explain all the contents through a beautiful story.
Second, we were watching some tutorials videos about Moovly to learn all of it.

 

 Third, we did a cognitive map with draws and their respective phrases and animations that we were going to use in each slide.
And finally we divided the work, I mean, each member of group made a slide of the cognitive map.
Our story is about eight girls (the members of the group) that they travel to the new and amazing world of Soyer1314 where they know Linda. They learnt a lot of interesting things about education tools and concepts in that world (cartographic projections, TPACK, creative commons license…) and when they return to their world they should teach all their new knowledge to others.

We considered showing in the last slide the phrase “to be continued” because we are sure that this first part of this subject, is only the first step to be a big teachers in the future.

Analyst

Hello everybody! Now that we have finally finished all the things of this long week I am going to evaluate us. First of all, I have to say that I have seen how this group has improved bit by bit, and it's a pity that this finishes when we have learnt how to work; but, otherwise, to continue doing what we already know won't give us many things.

1. What was the best part of the activity?
For me, the best part of this activity has been to listen and to read things about "the dark side of textbooks" because, on the one hand, it is always interesting hearing different opinions and perspectives of something, in this case, of how usefull textbook can be; on the other hand, I think that it is a topic really close to us because we are going to be teachers in a future and we will need to have our own opinion about it, for using or not them.

2. What was the worse?
The worst part of the activity, although it was not that bad, was to have good and original ideas for putting in just 30 seconds of advertisement as much negative aspects of textbooks as possible. It was complicated because you can't be sure if you are conveying well the message.

3. What was the best moment of the week (in the work of the group)?
Without a doubt, the funniest moment was when we were recordering our advertisements. We enjoy spending time together and it is great because in the meantime we have new ideas for improving the result of our project. 

4. What was the worse?
The worst part all the weeks, in my opinion, is when we have to stay at the univerity until too late, because we feel tired and our headaches don't allow us to think clearly; we start to lose too much time.

5. What have you learnt?
We have learnt many things about "the dark side of textbooks". Firstly, we have banished the idea that textbooks are compulsory for carrying out the curriculum; they do follow it, but... Are they the best way of teaching? No, they aren't. Secondly, we have also explored how, nearly always, textbooks are just a business of editorials. Finally, we have internalized that textbooks are heavy and expensive, and they limite our knowledge; besides, they avoid learning by dicoverying and sometimes teachers are more worried for teaching all in time than for their students learn.

6. What do you need to conserve - as a group - for the next weeks?
We should mantein the members' responsability. People in this group usually do what she is ordered to before the deadline.

7. What do you need to improve - as a group - for the next weeks?
We ought to investigate more on the web because there is lot of interesting information that we are losing.

8. How this content is related to other contents in the course and in your degree?
It could be one of the topics which are more related to our degree. Since the change of the law and the "boom" of editorials, they have been an indispensable tool for teachers. But how we have seen, they have a dark side: they are making richer editoriarls and sillier kids. And about how is this content related to others, in our English textbook it appeared a text about a school in which children didn't use textbooks; they went out everyday, it doesn't matter if the sun is shining or if it is raining cats and dogs, to explore the world and discovered things by themselves.

9. There is any evident social conection of this content (news, politics...)?
Of course they are. Education is becoming a bussines too again, as textbooks are. In public schools, theoretically, each teacher can choose the way he or she is going to teach as long as it respects the curriculum, but in private schools and, even worse, charter schools, make money with the editorials.

The visit of Londones

MY DEAR CLASSMATES:

LAST MONDAY THE 10th OF MARCH THE “LONDONES” MERCEDES RUIZ FOURTANETLY TURNDED UP IN OUR CLASSROOM AND SHE SKAKED US WITH HER LIVELY AND THRILLING SHOW.

AT THE BEGINING OF THE CLASS, SHE RECOMENED US SOME BOOKS SUCH AS “EL ESTUDIO DE TEORÍA Y PRACTICA” BY HELEN SIMONS, “EL Sr. G”, “CARTA A UN HIJO” BY RUDYARD KIPLING, “HIPOLITUS” BY PÉREZ REVERTE.

FROM I WAS A TEENAGEER I HAVE THE RUDYARD KIPLING POEM “CARTA A UN HIJO” IN THE WALL OF MY BEDROOM, IT WAS JUST IN FRONT OF MY BED AND EACH MORNING AND NIGHT, BEFORE STARTING THE DAY OR GOING TO BED I READ IT QUIETLY THINKING THAT I WILL BE A “MAN” .

I DO NOT KNOW IF I WILL BE A TEACHER, BUT I AM SURE THAT I WILL WAKE UP AGAIN AND AGAIN, NEVERMIND HOW STRONG THE STORM IS!!!!.

SHE STAGED AN AMUSING, ORIGINAL AND SHOCKING PERFORMANCE WHICH, I HOPE, REMOVED ALL THE GOOD THINGS WE HAVE!!.

SHE RECOMENDED US AS WELL, SOME FILMS SUCH US:” LA LLUVIA”,”KIRIKÚ Y LAS BESTIAS SALVAJES”, “LOS CHICOS DEL CORO” WHICH SOME OF MY CLASSMATES HAD SEEN YET. (I PROMEST I WILL).
SHE HAD TOLD US THAT THE BEST TEACHER IS THE BEST ACTOR !!, AND WE TOTALLY AGREE WITH HER.
AND A GOOD FILM IS BETTER THAN ANY TEXTSBOOK TOO.

AMONG OTHER GOOD ADVISE, SHE TOLD US THAT:

-WE COULD PLAY WITH OUR BODY.
-BREAK THE HABITS OR CUSTOMS.
-LANGUAGE IS POWER
-IMPROVISE WITH FUN
-INTERACT WHEN BOTH SIDES ARE AT THE SAME LEVEL.
-THE PEDAGOGY OF THE QUESTION.
-WE MUST BE CAREFUL WITH INTERRUPTIONS BUT THE CLASSROOM MUSTN´T
HAVE THE DOORS CLOSED.
-WE MUST GO TO LOOK FOR THE LOST CONTENT.
-THE KNOWLEDGE CAN CAME FROM THE GRANDFATHER, THE FATHER, THE
STREET,A BOOK, TECH OR WHENEVER.
-WE MUST NOT LEARN JUST WITH ONLY ONE INTENTION, SMELL, SEE, TASTE.

AFTER THAT, WE RETURNED INTO OUR CLASSROOM AND WE HAD AN ENJOYABLE AND INSTRUCTIVE MORNING......IT WAS A PLEASURE FOR ALL OF US,TO KNOW HER!!!.

My experience as the journalist!

Well...I am Cristina Gil and I have the Journalist this "week". It hasn´t been exactly a week, they have been two because a lot of exciting and unexpected things had happened to us in these two weeks. 

Anyway, I´m going to explain what we did the first week:

Monday, 3rd March: some of us met in the afternoon and we decided that we were going to do three different advertisements saying "NO" to books, well, text books. So we wrote the dialogue and the ideas each advertisement would have, always defending our own knowledge instead of text books. 

Tuesday, 4th March: our two stars of the week met to practice more or less what they were going to say according to the advertisements we thought of the day before. 

Wednesday, 5th March: we all met in the afternoon and we analized our advertisements properly. After this we start recording our adverts. It was great and very funny because people look at us as if we were weirdows or something strange... it was hilarius! I have to say that it has been the best work we have done so far, well, that´s my opinion anyway.

On Thursday, 6th March our teacher Linda finished the lesson earlier so we could finish some of the advertisements... we only had one left to do. We were very thankful for that.

On Monday, 10th March Mercedes came (@Longdones) to talk to us about text books. We thought she was just going to talk and talk all the time but no way! She was amazing! So so interesting! We weren´t expending her class to be that way... she put on a show and we really enjoyed it! She divided the class in three parts, each one of 40 minutes. In the last part of forty minutes she said to us that we had to find something outside the classroom that was related to text books and education. We also had to say a sentence to define what we wanted to transmit to the class... our phrase was: "Grow learning; Learn to grow". Afterwards we had to go back in the class and all of uf had to say the sentence we had thought of.

On Thursday, 13th March the presentations started... there was not enough time so only two groups we able to expose:


  • Common Tutankammon: they did and advert of the high cost of books and the need of having to get second hand books.
  • Brain Storming: they told us a story about the different functions of bees and they related them to text books in education. They also made us play a very entertaining game in which we had to relate the bees´functions with reality.
  • Hide and Seek: we made three advertisements showing that texts books makes our knowledge decrease. 
  • Give me 7: they made a really interesting infography about the disadvantages of text books.
  • Step by step: they wanted to explain that text books are ok, what is wrong is the way we use them.
  • Teachleaders: in their advert they say that books shouldn´t be compulsory because not everybody can afford them.
  • T8T: they want to show us how people manipulate us by text books.
  • Little Ants: they made two comics in which children realized that books aren´t as good as people think.
  • Educational Rush Hour: the message of their adverts is that we learn better without using text books.
We have really enjoyed your presentations, we hope you have enjoyed our one dear collegues!
I have loved this topic because it is so true... I didn´t know much about the way text books influence people... and I have to say it is absolutely disgusting... I think that when I become a teacher I won´t be using text books... I don´t think is worth it. I think I can teach better than text books!

My experience as a Star!

Hey bloggers!! María and me, Cristina F. have been the stars this week and it has been a great experience!
We have been preparing our exposition some days before so we have been ready for days! We couldn't expose our work on thursday because of  time and the visit of Mercedes on Monday, who taught us many interesting things :). Firstly, I wasn't nervous because I knew I had prepared my exposition, but then I thought that I would have a heart attack!!! :(. But the result has been good and my classmates have enjoyed it. María and me have laughed a lot!!

My experience as facilitator and the things that we had done

I am here again, dear bloggers, the facilitator of "Hide and Seek", this time I divided the group in three part depend of the tv advertisements series that we had to do. All the members of the group take part at least in one of the advertisement.

The whole group work very hard and I am so happy with my colleagues because we are an amazing work-hard family.


The role of facilitator had been so easy because my girls are responsible and organized, I am very pleased with them.

This is a new experience for me and I hope that my collegues think that I had been a good facilitator.

I HAVE BEEN THE FACILITATOR THIS WEEK.

Hi bloggers!
Well... I´m Cristina Gil and I have been the Facilitator of Hide and Seek this week. My task was to more or less organize what we had to do, the time we have and check that everything was fine. I have felt quite important this week because I was somehow the "boss" of the group and actually I felt a little bit like a teacher because it was like telling my students what to do. I think this task makes you feel like a real teacher so I´ve actually liked it a lot because I can´t wait to be one! 
With this task I have learned that it is quite complicated to organize a group, but I have also learned that this is what I want to do, this is my future.
